Product of the season
385 grams. Four self-locking buckles. A waistbelt that still breathes at the end of a twelve-hour push, and a wear indicator that tells you when to retire it rather than leaving you to guess.
EN 12277 Type C · UIAA 105 · Belay loop 22 kN
Why we exist
The Main Range is granite that has been standing for roughly four hundred million years — worn down rather than thrown up, scoured by ice and wind until what is left is bone, tor and twisted snow gum. Nothing about it looks dramatic from the car park. Everything about it is serious once you are on it.
Summit Au was built for that country: gear that is certified rather than merely claimed, tested where it is sold, and repaired before it is replaced.
How we work
We would rather sell you one harness that lasts a decade than three that last three years. Every product is specified to its failure mode, not its price point.
Every load-bearing item carries EN and UIAA certification, and we publish the numbers on the product page. If it is not tested, we do not sell it.
Prototypes go out into the Australian Alps, the Grampians and the Blue Mountains before anything goes into production. Local rock, local weather.
Send it back and we will fix it if it can be fixed, and tell you honestly when it cannot. Retirement advice is part of the product.
Field dispatches
Route conditions, gear teardowns and the occasional honest account of something that did not work. Roughly monthly. No sales blasts.
