What we stand behind
We warrant our gear against defects in materials and workmanship. We do not warrant it against being used, which is what it is for.
Every Summit Au product is warranted for [warranty period] from the date of purchase against defects in materials and workmanship — stitching that fails under normal load, a buckle that does not hold, a laminate that delaminates, a zip that fails without abuse.
The honest test is whether the failure happened sooner than the materials should reasonably allow. A hardshell that wets out after five seasons of hard use has reached the end of its life. One that wets out in its first season has a defect. We look at the item, not at the story around it, and we tell you which one we think it is.
Retirement is not a warranty failure. Load-bearing equipment has a finite life whether or not it has been used. Ten years from manufacture is the outer limit for most textile hardware, and far less with heavy use. Retiring gear on schedule is the system working, not the product failing.
This warranty is in addition to, and does not limit, the consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing on this page excludes any right you have that cannot lawfully be excluded.
